Circuit Judge

Judge Christopher Threlkeld is a lifelong resident of Edwardsville and graduated from Edwardsville High School. He received his undergraduate degree from The Citadel: The Military College of South Carolina in 1990, his MBA from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville and his Juris Doctor from Saint Louis University School of Law. Prior to attending law school, he worked for then Madison County Treasurer, John Shimkus as a deputy treasurer. After law school, he practiced law in private practice until being appointed as a Circuit Judge by Justice Karmeier in 2020. Judge Threlkeld currently is the presiding judge over a civil docket in the Law Division.

Judge Threlkeld handled a wide variety of cases ranging from business transactions, civil disputes, criminal defense to corporate internal investigations while in private practice and he is a former president of the Madison County Bar Association. Judge Threlkeld and his wife of over 25 years, Denise, are the parents of two sons and are members of First Baptist Church of Maryville.
