Our mission is to eliminate family violence.  It must be eliminated by improving our institutional and professional responses.  We will take individual and community responsibility for education, intervention, and prevention through providing appropriate services for victims and perpetrators of child abuse, domestic abuse, and elder abuse.  Insuring victim’s safety, autonomy and restoration, and holding abusers accountable are central to the vision of the Council.

What is the Family Violence Prevention Council?

People from agencies and organizations that have contact with family violence: child abuse, domestic violence, animal abuse, and elder abuse.

The Council consists of the following committees:

  • Court Committee
  • Clergy Committee
  • Health Committee
  • Intervention, Prevention & Education Committee
  • Law Enforcement Committee

What does the Family Violence Prevention Council do?

Seeks to eliminate family violence by:

  • Providing education to community groups free of charge
  • Organizing conferences, workshops and training seminars for professionals and others
  • Publishing informational and resource materials
  • Maintaining a library of resource materials for programs
  • Developing domestic violence prevention procedures and protocols

What can you do?
