The Madison County Employment and Training Department’s primary responsibilities are to administer employment and training programs under the Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA) and other state and federal funding sources. A focus of Madison County Employment and Training is to create partnerships between business and government that will establish services that prepare customers for employment.
All the services offered by the department are designed to assist either business or job seekers. These services include job listings, employment training, skills assessment, career counseling, job search assistance, vocational training, on-the-job training, recruitment assistance, youth employment and training, job and career fairs, referral services and many other types of employer/employee assistance.
The Madison County Employment and Training Department has offices in Madison, Bond, and Jersey Counties. There are offices located in the Southwestern Illinois workNet Centers in Wood River, Greenville, and Jerseyville. The administrative office is housed in the Madison County Wood River Facility.
Notification to Persons of Limited English Proficiency
When clients and applicants utilize the LWIA for Title I services and need assistance in a language other than English, the LWIA staff uses the Propio Language Services, LLC provided by a contracted vendor through the Illinois Department of Central Management Services. If local Interpreter Services are available either through the local college, a local church, or an ethnic group these services are also utilized.
